What is Cultigen?
Cultigen is a course engine. It uses AI to turn the newest research and technology into complete hands-on courses, a lesson, a working interactive, and a buildable kit, each reviewed by the original researchers. Every course launches as its own course brand, learned in person. FunguyLab is the first.
How does the course engine work?
You give Cultigen a source, a research paper, an industry process, or a real product, and it returns a complete hands-on course: a lesson that reaches the core idea, an interactive you can play with, and a kit you build with your own hands. What used to take years to turn into a course now takes far less.
What are the three parts of a Cultigen course?
Every course has three parts: a lesson that gets you to the real idea, a working interactive you can experiment with, and a buildable kit that brings the idea to your own desk.
It is AI-generated. Can I trust it?
Yes. Courses are AI-generated, and every one is reviewed by the original researchers behind the work. That is what keeps them accurate, current, and responsible: AI-generated, yet trustworthy.
What is FunguyLab?
FunguyLab is Cultigen's first course brand. It uses light and AI to grow living fungi and slime mold into printed forms, and teaches hands-on biology, art, and engineering. It was published at SIGGRAPH Asia and draws on the founder's research. You can visit it at funguylab.com.
What are Cultigen workshops?
Workshops are hands-on cohorts where you learn a course in person, building the real thing alongside other people. First sessions are forming in cities including Baltimore, New York, and Shanghai. The Baltimore cohort on light-printing slime mold is scheduled for October 2026. See workshops.

What is Cultigen's mission?
As AI takes over more of our routine work, what people should be learning is the frontier. Today the frontier is reachable by only a few. Cultigen turns the world's most advanced technology into courses anyone can build, so the frontier becomes a shared, global asset instead of a privilege, and the next wave of invention gets far larger. Who founded Cultigen?
Cultigen was founded by Kexin Wang, a researcher at MIT CSAIL, working in human-computer interaction and digital fabrication, the craft behind Cultigen's interactives and kits.
